Alumni Experience
Alumni who attend will be included in all aspects of the conference. There is not a separate alumni schedule, but there will be concurrent sessions and receptions geared towards alumni only sponsored by the Mortar Board Alumni Association. In accordance with this year's theme of (Re)Connecting, sessions will benefit from the participation and interaction of members at all levels. Alumni can attend the full-conference (Friday - Sunday) or register for Saturday only.
Keynote and alumni social hour
Alumni are invited to attend the 2022 National Citation Luncheon featuring Keynote Speaker Carlotta Walls LaNeir. My Journey to Justice at Little Rock Central High will provide attendees with a the opportunity to hear about an important piece of history from the youngest member of the Little Rock Nine and civil rights icon. The keynote is at 12:00 p.m. Central on Saturday, August 13.
The MBAA is sponsoring an alumni social hour following the keynote starting in the Little Rock, Marriott. More information about connecting remotely will be available soon.
Adopt-A-Chapter or Delegate
Now more than ever, chapters need your help to reinvigorate their chapter following the past two years. COVID-19, campus shut downs, no in-person initiations for 2 years, few in-person meeting, in inability to hold on-campus fundraisers, and a loss of continuity / institutional chapter knowledge has been incredibly hard on our chapters and their advisors.
Won’t you help? When you give to our Adopt-A-Chapter / Adopt-A-Delegate program, you will help chapters attend conference.
Become a Conference Sponsor
Consider becoming a Corporate or Individual Sponsor of Mortar Board National Conference 2022. To help make our first in-person conference in over 3-years a meaningful and memorable experience, we are requesting financial gifts directly to support conference costs and the participation of our chapter members and advisors. Sponsorship Levels include: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Torchlight. There are also opportunities to give at the Adopt-A-Chapter, Adopt-A-Delegate, and Friend of Mortar Board level.
Present a Session
You have experience and knowledge to share! At MBNC22, the concurrent and leadership sessions will be packed with information designed to develop your (re)connection to Mortar Board. Please consider presenting one of our concurrent sessions.
Unsure what to present? Consider submitting a proposal in one of these areas:
- The benefits of Mortar Board and what Mortar Board can do for you (i.e. making connections (chapter, local, and national), fellowship opportunities, leadership roles, alumni opportunities, volunteering, etc.)
- Content that would enhance the member experience with Mortar Board (i.e. personal and professional development sessions ranging from leadership to career development to wellbeing and self-care to servant-leadership to current issues facing college students, etc.)
- How to make an impact in Mortar Board at the chapter, local, and national levels (i.e. chapter operations, fundraising ideas, program ideas, meeting management, volunteer support, advisor-focused sessions, increasing brand recognition on campus, enhancing DEI&B initiatives, best practice for success, etc.)
