Mortar Board Timeline

There are several important dates for national reports or nomination deadlines. Make sure your entire executive board and advisors are aware of these 2024-2025 dates:

September 30            Chapter Action Plans deadline (quarter schools due October 15)

November 15                Graduate Fellowship applications available

December 1                  Deadline for Governance submissions for Special National Conference

January 26                  Special National Conference

February 9-15                Mortar Board Week

March 15                         Graduate Fellowship applications due

May 15                             Collegiate Awards deadline (all chapters)

May 15                            Chapter Annual Reports deadline (quarter schools due June 1)

June 1                             Deadline for Governance submissions for National Conference

TBD                                 National Conference 2025 (virtual)

Summer

• Chapter president (or designee) attends the National Conference
• Plan scholarship, leadership, and service activities
• Officers and advisors communicate
• Possibly hold officer/advisor retreat

Fall

• Begin monthly chapter meetings and officer meetings
• Submit Chapter Action Plan (September 30 for semester; October 15 for quarter)
• Create a plan for membership selection
• Work on increasing chapter visibility (i.e.: get your name out on campus)
• Hold service projects and/or appreciation initiatives
• Get eligibility list at end of semester; finalize application and start recruitment

Spring – Events

• Participate in the Special National Conference (Sunday, January 26, 2025)
• Celebrate Mortar Board Week (February 9-15, 2025)
• Celebrate National Advisor Appreciation Day (April 21)
• Register for the National Conference (virtual 2025)

Spring – Chapter Operations

• Advertise and collect applications
• Hold selection meeting
• Complete the Candidate Request (CR) to submit your new candidates
• Tap new members
• Hold orientation for new members
• Hold initiation
• Finalize chapter roster with Official Membership Report (OMR) and pay $350 chapter annual fee (aka conference fee)
• Hold transition sessions for new officers

Submit Chapter Annual Report (due May 15 for semester schools; June 1 for quarter)
